Northern Lights, Camera, Action!

 This unscripted factual series follows a team of underdog filmmakers as they try to set into motion engaging Hollywood with their Northern British Columbia community. Alternating between past and present interviews with live footage, each episode focuses on a particular icon and their insights into what it would take for distance locations like the city of Prince George to build success in the film industry. What makes Prince George particularly relevant is that it is a relatively small city (70,000+) which has seen 3 major film productions through the years – Stephen King’s Dreamcatcher, Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd, and Reindeer Games.

Based on the advice from the interviews with Edward James Olmos, Rachel Talalay, Michael Uslan, Marc Bernardin, and Skye Borgman, the team of filmmakers will be acting specifically on the direction given to see if they can lure the motion picture industry to their hometown.

Festies is a pop-culture extravaganza: an unscripted factual series that explores the fun and freaky sides of fandom conventions and niche festivals from around the world. Cosplay superstar Ivy Doomkitty and Comic Con Boy Wonder Ming Chen immerse themselves in the realm of bizarre social gatherings, in search of the spirit of inclusion and acceptance that lies behind the fantasy.
